President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine cannot agree to an immediate truce, because it does not trust the head of Russia's aggressor country. He emphasized that one cannot simply talk about a ceasefire, a plan is needed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with Bloomberg TV.

The President of Ukraine noted that the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is a good sign, because it is important that neighboring countries «talk and support each other.»

When asked why Ukraine would not agree to Viktor Orban's proposal for a ceasefire, Volodymyr Zelenskyy answered that he needed a clear plan and the discussion should take place on an international platform.

«We can't just talk about a ceasefire like that. I need a plan. In principle, we cannot trust Putin, because for us he is a murderer and an aggressor. It is important that Hungary recognizes that Russia is an aggressor that recognizes the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,» he said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that there must be guarantees that Russia will not use the ceasefire to accumulate equipment on the occupied territory of Ukraine, while Ukraine, being bound by the terms of the ceasefire, will not stop it with its strikes.

We will remind that the other day the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, suggested to the President of Ukraine to consider the possibility of a ceasefire in order to speed up peace negotiations with Russia.
