The construction of a geriatric boarding house and a social town with the help of Danish partners were discussed in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, a meeting was held with the director of the Modular Nexus program and the chairman of the board of the Danish Association of Engineers, Finn Durslev.

As the Mykolaiv City Council reports, during the meeting they discussed possible cooperation in the realization of two social objects using the method of modular construction.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych, his deputies Vitaly Lukov and Anatolii Petrov, the director of the economic development department of the city council Tetiana Shulichenko, the chief architect of the city Yevhen Poliakov, the director of the department of energy, energy saving and implementation of innovative technologies Alla Lutska.

It is noted that the priority goals of the project are to help the less mobile population and improve the standard of living of people of different ages: from children to the elderly.

«We are here to help the people of Ukraine. We also want to help Mykolaiv and Ukraine to raise the level of skills so that you can build modular houses yourself. That is, they will not come from Denmark, it will be Ukrainian production. Modular constructions will be built at one of the Ukrainian companies, which has the ability to do this,» said Finn Durslev.

The construction of a geriatric boarding house and a social town — a joint accommodation facility for children and the elderly according to the European standard — was chosen as the pilot project.

The big advantage of this construction method is speed. The first project, which will require adaptation to our legislation and standards, will take 12 months. In the future, the projects will be ready for implementation in 2-4 months.

For the implementation of the projects, the Danish organization plans to independently seek and attract donors so that the city does not spend budget funds.

«This project is very important for us. First of all, we are looking for long-term cooperation. The people of Denmark have already helped Mykolaiv in many ways. But we want not only to receive help, we are looking for cooperation, partnership. We want Denmark to open businesses here, creating jobs and filling our budget, and become more successful together with us,» said Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.

After the meeting, the participants of the event inspected the areas where the implementation of these social projects is planned. The next steps will be to find financing.
