With the financial support of the German government, a call center with trained staff and a service and communication department was launched on the basis of medical institutions of the Bashtanka community.

This was announced by the project organizers.

According to statistics, 70-95% of patients use a remote appointment. Therefore, the district decided to introduce a new algorithm of interaction with its medical institutions, which replaced the old registrars.

«The implementation of the work of call centers will relieve the workload of doctors in this difficult time thanks to the advance appointment. Patients will be able to quickly and conveniently receive information about doctors' work schedules, diagnostic procedures and rules of preparation for them, which directly affects the quality of medical services. It is also important that we will have feedback from patients regarding their satisfaction with the service and ways to improve it,» Alla Barseghian, director of one of the hospitals in the Bashtanka district, commented.

Special attention is paid to staff training. In particular, improving their communication skills. Among their main tasks is to promote the general awareness of patients about obtaining medical services under the Medical Guarantee Program, which is regularly expanded.

«This project, with the support of the German government, is a step towards a patient-oriented model of service provision. I am glad that we have the opportunity, even in the conditions of war, to improve the services and institutional capacity of hospitals. This is the creation of sustainable access for more than 100,000 patients to services, and therefore to health,» said Dmytro Sherembei, head of the patient organization «100% Life», which is a partner of the GIZ project «Special program of support of Ukraine / EU4ResilientRegions».

Together with the launch of the call center for the residents of the Bashtan community, the updated reception of the polyclinic department, a renovated surgical department, a new gynecological office with barrier-free access, a new elevator on a four-story building, and a solar station that will be able to cover up to 70% of the hospital's own needs will be officially operational. Medical and non-medical equipment were also purchased: laboratory diagnostic equipment, mobile charging stations, IT equipment, mobile water purification plant, etc.

«On behalf of the German government, GIZ comprehensively helps to develop medical services in communities: including renovation of medical facilities, purchase of medical and non-medical equipment, staff training. The Bashtanka community is one of the communities that, as a result of Russian aggression, needed help in recovery, as well as modern, digital solutions for improving service and communication,» commented Yuliia Hruber, director of the GIZ project «Special program of support for Ukraine / EU4ResilientRegions».
