The first wind energy complexes of the Naftogaz group will be built in the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. Their design has already started.
This was announced by the head of the group Oleksiy Chernyshov during the «Made in Ukraine» forum.
He called the construction of a wind power plant in the south a symbolic and important position of Naftogaz.
«In 2024, we are designing two wind energy complexes. We plan to build them in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, which is a very symbolic and important position from our side, » said Oleksii Chernyshov.
He also noted that Naftogaz is developing a decarbonization strategy that will increase the share of alternative energy in the Group's structure.
In December 2023, at the UN climate conference COP28 in Dubai, the DTEK group and the wind turbine manufacturer Vestas signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the completion of the construction of the Tyligul wind power plant.
The second phase of the Tyligul wind farm will consist of 64 wind turbines (6 MW each) with a total capacity of 384 MW. The first stage with a capacity of 114 MW was commissioned in the spring of 2023.
The Tyligul wind farm is located in the Mykolaiv region. The first phase consists of 19 Vestas EnVentus V162-6.0 MW wind turbines with a total capacity of 114 MW. Its cost was 200 million euros.
As you know, the decision to build the Tyligul wind farm was made in 2020 as part of DTEK's strategy to expand the RES portfolio. Over time, the project will make it possible to increase the capacity of DTEK's «green» energy from 1 GW to 1.5 GW.
