In Voznesensk, communities intend to unite for the construction of a compost station.

The corresponding draft decision was published on the website of the Voznesensk City Council.

The following are planning to join the cooperation within the implementation of the «Composting cluster» project: Buh village council, Prybuzhanivka village council, Oleksandrivka village council, Doroshivka village council, Veselynivka village council and Bratske village council.

The document states that the construction of the composting station will improve the environmental situation in the region and the level of solid waste management, in accordance with European standards for separate collection and sorting of waste.

«The organic content of solid waste tends to decompose, which leads to various odor problems, as well as the formation of methane, which causes environmental pollution. Therefore, for the safe disposal of solid waste, it is necessary to reduce their quantity,» — the document states.

The Voznesensk solid waste landfill is located in the village of Taborivka, Buh territorial community, Voznesensk district. It is not the first time that rescuers have had to put out fires there. We will remind that in August of this year, one hectare of garbage was burned at this landfill.

We will also remind you that on July 12, in the Mykolaiv Oblast, in the village of Lugove, firefighters managed to extinguish a fire at the household waste dump of the CP Koblivskyi Silkomunhosp, which lasted for more than two days.

In October 2023, at the Voznesensk landfill, rescuers spent 5 days extinguishing a fire at the municipal landfill.

It was also reported that the Voznesensk communal enterprise Sanitary Cleaning of the City announced a tender for work on the installation of a fence at the municipal solid waste landfill, located near the village of Taborivka, for 2.7 million hryvnias.
