In 2023, 44 new school buses were purchased for Mykolaiv Oblast

During 2023, 44 school buses were purchased for Mykolaiv Oblast, one of them inclusive.

Alla Velikhovska, the director of the Department of Education and Science of the Mykolaiv University of Applied Sciences, told about this at the briefing, NikVesti writes.

24 of them were given to Mykolaiv Oblast by international partners: 10 — the Danish government, 14 — the International Solidarity Fund of the Republic of Poland.

The other 20 were purchased at the expense of the regional budget and community budgets.

«Over the year we have purchased 20 buses, 16 were purchased through co-financing with communities 50/50 and 4 were purchased from the regional budget. 3 of them went to boarding schools, and the fourth bus was specially equipped for children with special needs. In general, all the buses are already in the communities, they are actively used and take children to educational institutions by 8 in the morning,» said Alla Velikhovska.

We remind that 4 school buses, which were purchased by the International Solidarity Fund of the Republic of Poland , were handed over by the Mykolaiv OVA to the Sniguriv community.

A total of 15 buses purchased with the funds of the communities and the regional budget were sent to 13 communities of the Mykolaiv region, in particular: Buzka, Vilnazaporizka, Vradiivska, Yelanetska, Kazankivska, Kamianomostivska, Nechaianska, Olshanska, Prybuzka, Radsadivska, Syniukhino-Bridska, and Stepivska.

We also remind, at the beginning of the year, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, said that in order to transfer the learning process in Mykolaiv to an offline format, it is necessary to provide the city with school buses, since some of the institutions were destroyed by the Russians. He noted that Mykolaiv generally lacks public transport, as part of it was handed over to the military, and part was destroyed or damaged by shelling.
