In the Bashtan district, 14 out of 98 schools will start face-to-face education from September 1, another 37 will work in a mixed format.

Vladyslav Dmytriv, the head of the Bashtanka district military administration, announced this during a briefing on August 21, NikVesti reports.

The main reason for distance learning is the security situation, especially in settlements close to the war zone.

«Our main goal is to ensure the safety of children. We take into account the wishes of parents and the recommendations of pedagogical teams, especially in those territories located within a 30-kilometer zone from the Kherson region,» Dmytriv said.

According to him, 1,012 students will enter the first grade this year, and in total, 12,113 children will study in district schools. At the same time, due to the destruction of some educational institutions, more than 2,000 children will be transported to schools, for which an additional 30 buses are needed.

«We have already received 12 buses and plan to receive several more before the end of the year as part of humanitarian aid. The priority for their use will be those schools that will work in a mixed or offline format,» the head of the administration emphasized.

Where in Mykolaiv Oblast is there a full-time education?

57 educational institutions were allowed to work offline in the Mykolaiv region. Most of them are schools of Voznesenskyi and Pervomaiskyi districts. In addition, 94 schools work mixed, that is, children study offline in a certain sequence, for example, one week after another. Another 277 educational institutions work online.

It was also possible to organize an offline educational process in the front-line Ochakiv, which is still in the zone of damage by the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system. There is a mixed form of education.

According to the monitoring of the Department of Education of the Mykolaiv City Council, 65% of schoolchildren want to study full-time.

In 2024, the number of schools that will work offline in the Mykolaiv region has increased to 135.
