Almost 22,000 people have already been evacuated from the settlements of Sumy Oblast, as Russian troops continue to shell the border areas of the region.

This was reported in the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

According to the head of RMA, Volodymyr Artiukh, since the beginning of the year, the Russians have carried out more than 10,000 shellings on the territories of Sumy Oblast, while last year there were 8,000 such strikes.

In August alone, the Russians shelled the region more than 2,200 times. The invaders drop guided aerial bombs and FPV drones.

Volodymyr Artiukh noted that evacuations are being carried out to protect people from the region, and as of September 1, about 22,000 people have already been moved from dangerous areas.

The head of RMA is convinced that the number of evacuees will increase. He noted that at the moment the priority is to provide for the needs of forced migrants whose homes were destroyed by the enemy.

In particular, there is already an agreement on the installation of 10 modular houses for 70 displaced persons in the Sumy district, and in September the construction of a modular town in Sumy for 100 people is planned to begin. The project is financed with the support of the Swedish Red Cross.

We remind you that the evacuation of civilians continues in Myrnohrad, Donetsk region, but some parents are hiding their children. Law enforcement officers will go through houses to look for them.
