Zelenskyy: Russia lost about 650,000 wounded and killed people in the war

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that Russia's losses in the war amount to about 650,000 people wounded and killed. Many of them were killed by the Russians themselves.

The head of state said this in an interview with The Times of India.

«Russia itself killed many Russians. Many mobilized Russian soldiers were killed by the Russian army itself because they were afraid to go forward, advance, die under bullets or be wounded. They ran back and were killed there by their own army. They don't count numbers. You know that they already have about 650,000 victims. Killed and wounded,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

He also said that Russia does not take away its killed soldiers from the battlefield, and «this is the face of today's Russia. The face of Putin and the face of this war.»

Speaking about the situation at the front, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that in the east of Ukraine, the enemy is «squeezing» through a meat grinder, using its soldiers as meat, and «is pelting us with its corpses.»

The head of state added that after the beginning of the Kursk operation, the Ukrainian troops saw that the Russian Federation continued to strike even on its own territory and kill its civilians who remained in the Kursk region.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Russian Federation's information about the encirclement of Ukrainian military personnel in the Kursk region is false.

Also, according to his data, from August 8 to the present, Russian troops have lost 17,819 soldiers on this part of the front (6,662 died, 10,446 were medical casualties, and 711 were captured Russians).

We will remind you that in June of this year, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the ratio of irreversible losses of Ukrainians to Russians on the battlefield at that time was 1:6.
