A drug business with millions of profits was exposed in Mykolaiv

Law enforcement officers exposed a group of drug dealers who were selling heavy psychotropic drugs on the territory of the Mykolaiv region.

As reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, as a result of the special operation, three participants were detained, among them the organizer, a 45-year-old man from Mykolaiv, who had previously been convicted of drug trafficking.

The man also involved two more of his acquaintances, aged 27 and 28, in the drug business, dividing the duties between them. The organizer bought drugs and psychotropic substances, and his accomplices packaged and sold them. For each sale, the accomplices reported and received their earnings, the National Police in the Mykolaiv region noted.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the monthly profit of the group amounted to almost a million hryvnias. They used their own connections in criminal circles to find clients.

The law enforcement officers have documented several sales of the particularly dangerous psychotropic drug α-PVP.

During searches of the places of residence of the detainees and in their cars, the following was found:

• «bags» with psychotropic substances prepared for sale;
• equipment for their synthesis and packaging;
• bank cards, draft records with data on drug trafficking and «customers», as well as computer equipment with evidence of correspondence with «suppliers»;
• a large amount of cash from drug sales.

In addition, they found RGO combat grenades, as well as more than 700 cartridges for small arms.

All detainees were informed of suspicion under part 3 of Article 307 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

They are currently in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

We will remind that the law enforcement officers exposed an international criminal organization that was engaged in large-scale drug trade in Ukraine and abroad. 20 million hryvnias worth of «goods» were seized from the detainees.
