The Department of Capital Construction of the Mykolaiv Oblast has announced a tender for the construction of a new anti-radiation shelter on the territory of the Radisnyi Sad Lyceum in the Mykolaiv region. The cost of construction is estimated at 17.2 million hryvnias.
Such information was published on the public procurement website ProZorro, «NikVesti» writes.
The project for the construction of the public health center in the Radisnyi Sad Lyceum was published on the DREAM investment search platform as early as April 2024. It is noted there that in general, 19.7 million hryvnias are needed for the full implementation of the project.
The project provides that the shelter will be designed for 99 people, including 70 students and 29 teachers and other staff of the lyceum.
However, according to the data contained in the education management information system, this academic year the number of students at the lyceum is 139, and the number of teachers and other staff is 18.
The building area of the shelter will be 332 m². The project provides for two entrances with protective and hermetic doors that can withstand a load of 440 kPa, as well as fire doors. The building is equipped with ventilation, water supply, sewerage, electricity and backup power supply. For emergency lighting and device charging, a 1000 W backup power supply unit with a battery will be installed.
The shelter must be accessible to the less mobile population groups. The project provides for unimpeded movement, safety of evacuation routes, as well as the possibility of orientation and use of the necessary equipment. It is expected that it will be possible to use the shelter continuously for two days. The contractor must provide single-level places for lying and sitting.
The construction of the shelter should be completed by December 31, 2025. The auction is scheduled for December 17, 2024.
We will remind you that recently in Mykolaiv, a resident complained about a closed shelter at 26/2-S Heorhii Gongadze Street. The woman reported that she was trying to find out where she could hide in case of danger. She noted that there was a sign on the wall of the house for a shelter, but the door was locked and there was no information about the keys or the person in charge.
Note that only 7% of shelters in Mykolaiv are open. At the same time, there is a problem with the availability of shelters — there is no ramp or gentle descent. In April 2024, residents of Mykolaiv could not get into the shelter on the territory of the «Kazka» children's town during the air raid because it was closed. Based on this fact, the administration of the children's town conducted an internal investigation.
This is not the first situation with shelters closed during an air raid in Mykolaiv. Shelters in the Matviivka neighborhood, in the Central district of the city, and in the Yunist park were also closed during the strikes on Mykolaiv on March 17. After these cases, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, urged residents to call the police if the shelter or storage room is locked during an air raid.
We will remind that the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, said that if local residents find a locked shelter or storage during an air raid alert, they can call the police.
