In 2024, 39 servicemen from the Mykolaiv region were released from captivity in Russia.
The head of the Southern Regional Centre for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Inna Turova, told about this in the article «Suspilne Mykolaiv».
It is noted that the centre has organised more than six thousand consultations for the families of defenders. Dozens of meetings, visits and events aimed at supporting the families were also held.
«We do our best to help women who are expecting, who are fighting, we help children, we organise events, we hold meetings. We want people to understand that they have support, legal assistance, psychological help, and that the coordination headquarters is always there to help with any issue,» said Inna Turova.
It should be noted that relatives of prisoners of war, friends and concerned residents of the city organise reminder actions in support of prisoners of war and missing persons. Such actions are held every Sunday at the intersection of Tsentralnyi Avenue and Mala Morska Street at 12:00.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that among all Ukrainian prisoners held in the Russian Federation, the largest number of representatives of units of Mykolaiv brigades. In particular, it is about the marines of the 36th Brigade.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is also holding at least six Ukrainian mayors and heads of communities captive.
As a reminder, on 26 October, about 100 people and 50 cars took part in a rally in Mykolaiv to support prisoners of war and missing soldiers.
