The Mykolaiv Guards showed how to hone their close combat skills in urban areas. For maximum realism, they use laser tag during training.
According to the soldiers of the 19th Mykolaiv Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine, speed, accuracy and coordination are important.
«Every move counts, because the cost of a mistake can be too high. Imagine the scenario: the enemy breaks through, trying to capture a building or vehicle. How do you react? Who is in control of the situation? In such circumstances, decisions need to be made in a split second», the unit said.
The guardsmen joke that such training resembles the popular game Counter-Strike, but with a fundamental difference — in real life there is no button «to restart».
«Every false step here can cost you your life», says the instructor with the call sign Dobryak.
To achieve maximum realism, a modern laser tag system is used during training. It tracks the mistakes of each participant, helping to quickly identify weaknesses and correct them.
Earlier it was reported that servicemen of the 19th Mykolaiv Regiment of the Southern Operational and Territorial Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine were awarded for the successful completion of combat missions in Donetsk region.
