According to the Ministry of Health, 467 organ transplants were performed in Ukraine in 2024. 311 kidneys, 93 livers and 63 hearts were transplanted. All operations are free of charge for patients.

Since the active development of transplantation in Ukraine, more than 1,500 such operations have been performed over the past four years. At the same time, more than 3,000 patients are on the transplant waiting list.

It should be noted that Ukrainian legislation provides that every person can decide whether or not to agree to posthumous donation during their lifetime.

We would like to remind you that a teenager from Odesa region posthumously became an organ donor, saving the lives of five seriously ill patients from different parts of Ukraine. For example, a 35-year-old mother of five from Mykolaiv region underwent a lung transplant.
