The Odesa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital has opened an educational centre «Superhero School», where children undergoing treatment are taught.
This was reported by First Lady Olena Zelenska on Facebook.
According to her, classes began here in the summer — teachers worked with children in their wards while the premises were being renovated. During this time, the team of teachers has taught more than 1800 lessons.
«Now the school has everything it needs for full-fledged education: separate classrooms for preschoolers, junior and senior pupils, its own methodologist and teachers who teach more than 10 subjects,» the statement said.
In addition, the school has a child psychologist's office where children can find the necessary support.
Olena Zelenska and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi visited the educational institution in Odesa Oblast. The Olena Zelenska Foundation funded the creation of six such schools in 2024 and plans to open six more in 2025.
«Plans for 2025 include the opening of at least six new Superhero Schools at hospitals in Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Lutsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil and Mukachevo, as well as the restoration of a centre in «Okhmatdyt», which was damaged by the Russian attack», the statement added.
As a reminder, in Mykolaiv, the municipal enterprise «Zakhyst» has set up a shelter in one of the city's children's hospitals.
