The utility company «Mykolaivelectrotrans» is implementing a project to install a hybrid solar station on the roof of the control building.
According to the utility, the solar station will consist of 42 panels and will have a generation capacity of about 24 kW.
The project is designed to last for three months — during this time, it is planned to complete all installation work and continue distributing water to the townspeople using alternative sources of electricity.
The generated electricity will be used for management needs and for the uninterrupted operation of the stationary water treatment plant.
«From the stationary point, which is located on the territory of the enterprise, we distribute water by trolleybus and tram further around the city. Residents of the district also take water from it, so with this project we will be able to be even more stable in supplying water to Mykolaiv residents», said Yurii Smetana, director of the utility company «Mykolaivelectrotrans».
The project «Strengthening the Energy Independence of Critical Infrastructure to Continue Supporting the Population during the Winter Period» is implemented with the support of the NGO «Youth of Ukraine» in partnership with DCA-NCA and is funded by the European Union.
Last September, in order to ensure uninterrupted water supply in Mykolaiv, the utility company «installed a hybrid solar power plant at the treated water supply station on Kolodiazna Street.
