«NHSU did not sign contracts on time»: Demianov explains delay in salaries for ambulance doctors, but emphasises that the problem has been solved

The delay in the payment of salaries to the medical staff of the emergency hospital in Mykolaiv at the beginning of 2025 was caused by the late conclusion of contracts with the National Health Service of Ukraine. However, the hospital staff has now been paid.

This was reported by Oleksandr Demianov, chief physician of the emergency hospital, in a commentary to NikVesti.

As you know, the deputy head of the city health department, Mykola Berezhnyk, reported salary arrears to the medical staff of maternity hospital No. 3 and the emergency hospital. However, Oleksandr Demianov said that the emergency hospital no longer has any debts.

«There is no such debt. We had debts in January, when there were non-payments from the NHSU. We only received the contracts in mid-February. But these contracts should be signed at the end of the year so that we can enter the new year with a new contract. But this has been going on every year since 2019.

Indeed, we did not have any surplus to leave after 2024 for this year. We paid everything to people. But because the NHSU did not give us the contracts on time, we had a delay in salaries. But now we have received both January and February salaries and enough money to pay salaries and buy medicines and food,» said Olexandr Demianov.

When the journalist asked whether the salary arrears for January had been paid to the medical staff, the chief doctor replied that they had been partially paid.

«Part of it has already been paid. But we pay more than once. We have an advance payment and a salary. Our salary was paid on the 28th, but the advance was as usual. That is, we are now proceeding as planned. And the delay was not related to the hospital or administrative actions,» explained Olexandr Demianov.
