municipal emergency care hospital in Mykolaiv

City Emergency Hospital, known locally as LShMD, is the Mykolaiv hospital that provides emergency and urgent surgical care. From the start of the full-scale war to December 2024 it saved more than 1,600 people with mine and blast injuries, most of them, about 800, in 2022. In September 2023 an order to cut over 143 staff positions and merge surgical departments led to protests by surgeons, and city and regional authorities stepped in. In early 2025 the hospital's medics were not paid on time, which was blamed on late contracts with the National Health Service. As of September 2024 its chief physician was Oleksandr Demianov.

MykVisti covers the hospital's reform and funding, the work of its medics during the war, and the construction of a shelter for bedridden patients.
