Ukraine has begun paying increased state child benefits. Illustrative photo: Alex Pasarelu / UnsplashUkraine has begun paying increased state child benefits. Since the beginning of the year, the monthly payment for caring for a child under one year of age is 7,000 hryvnia. More than 46,000 families have already received the funds.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
According to her, payments for children under one year of age have already been transferred to more than 46,000 families.
Payments under the «eYasla» programme have also begun. Currently, funds are starting to be received by 1,370 recipients. The amount of assistance is 8,000 hryvnias per month if the mother, father or guardian returns to work after the child reaches one year of age. The money can be used to pay for the services of a nanny, assistant or preschool education institution.
Special accounts for receiving these payments can already be opened at Oschadbank. According to Svyrydenko, the government is working to expand the possibilities for submitting applications, in particular through the Diia app.
In addition, other types of state support continue to be available: assistance in connection with pregnancy and childbirth, as well as a one-time payment of 50,000 hryvnias upon the birth of a child.
First Deputy Minister of Social Policy Liudmyla Shemelinets previously reported that a total of 29 billion hryvnias has been allocated for this purpose. Of this amount, 24.5 billion will be directed to new types of payments, and the rest will be used to finance assistance provided in accordance with current legislation.
We would like to remind you that back in the summer, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft law on assistance to families before and after the birth of a child. The document provides for an increase in the one-time payment after childbirth — instead of 10,300 hryvnias, women will receive 50,000 hryvnias.
