Iryna Bondarenko’s defence team considered the charges of fictitious employment to be unfounded. The lawyers requested that she be placed under night-time house arrest as a preventive measure.

Judge Halyna Podzihun delivered her ruling. Iryna Bondarenko was remanded in custody until 26 June. However, the request was granted in part: the bail amount was set at 832,000 hryvnias.

As a reminder, on 29 April, Iryna Bondarenko, head of the sports department at Mykolaiv City Council, was charged with embezzlement of public funds. The sum in question is over half a million hryvnias.

Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych told NikVesti that Iryna Bondarenko would be suspended from her post for the duration of the investigation.
