Photo: Olha PysarenkoThe dilapidated bridge in the Yelanets community, which carries a lot of traffic, is not on the books of the village council or the Mykolaiv Region Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service. The section of road is unpaved.
This was reported by the Yelanets settlement council in response to an enquiry from NikVesti.
The village council noted that residents of the community had not approached them regarding the dilapidated condition of the bridge outside the village of Yelanets.
«However, the village council is taking measures to address its dilapidated condition; they have calculated the materials required to ensure proper drainage and safe passage. The issue of their delivery and the execution of the works using raised funds is currently being resolved,» the response states.
At the same time, the Yelanets settlement council reported that the dilapidated bridge is not on their books, as this section of the road is a dirt track. Therefore, as stated in the response, they cannot allocate funds from the village council’s budget for its repair or maintenance.
Overall, it was noted that the settlement council’s budget for 2026 allocates 15 million hryvnias for the repair of streets and roads under municipal ownership.
Regarding other roads in the community — the T-15-10 and R-55 — the condition of which residents have also complained about, they reported that they had contacted the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Mykolaiv region.
«In response, we were informed that there were no funds in the state budget. The section with the bridge does not fall under the category of roads of national importance,» replied the Yelanets Settlement Council.
Response to NikVesti’s enquiry regarding the dilapidated bridge near YelanetsIt should be noted that residents of the Yelanets community have drawn attention to the condition of the dilapidated bridge outside the settlement, which is used by a large volume of traffic, including school buses and ambulances. The bridge has collapsed, partly due to rising groundwater levels.
