To this end, the Mykolaiv City Territorial Community has purchased a school bus fitted with special seats for transporting children who use wheelchairs.

Currently, these children live in various districts of the city. They will be offered places at Gymnasium №36, which is fully adapted to the needs of pupils with reduced mobility.

«Gymnasium №36 is equipped and has all the facilities required for the education of such children. It has a lift, ramps and specially adapted toilet facilities — in other words, everything necessary for their education,» the Department of Education reported.

According to officials, there are currently more than 20 children who use wheelchairs. The draft resolution sets out the procedure for transporting them to the school.

As a reminder, there are plans to transfer 3.69 million hryvnias from Mykolaiv’s budget to the regional budget to co-fund the purchase of school buses for the city’s educational institutions.
