Servicemen of the 79th separate amphibious assault brigade, stationed in Mykolaiv, captured six occupiers during an assault in the Novomykhailivka area.

The 79th Brigade announced this on its Telegram page.

The details of the operation were told by a paratrooper with the call sign «Kotsyk», who participated in the assault. According to him, their group, which consisted of four soldiers, quietly bypassed the flanks of the enemy and pinned him down in position. After offering to surrender, the occupiers raised their hands and the military took them prisoner.

«All the fighters of our group are like relatives to me, like brothers. I am sure I will always be covered and pulled out. This is a real combat brotherhood,» says the storm trooper.

The village of Novomykhailivka is located approximately 12 kilometers south of Mariinka, which Russian forces have been trying to capture since 2014. The forces of the Russian Federation intensified these assaults from the beginning of October 2023, now they control the place where Mariinka was located, the settlement itself no longer actually exists.

It will be recalled that an anti-tank gun of the Mykolaiv 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade destroyed four armored combat vehicles in one battle, disrupting the attack of Russian soldiers.

It will be recalled that on January 21, Russian troops again fired artillery at Ochakov.

It is worth noting that the occupiers shell Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities almost every day from the territory of the temporarily occupied Kinburn spit. Earlier, the head of the RMA, Vitalii Kim, said that the shelling of Ochakiv by the Russian army has no military purpose, the occupiers are shooting to scare the locals.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, approximately 8 thousand townspeople have left Ochakiv. At the same time, according to preliminary estimates of the Ukrainian authorities, about 200 people live on the occupied Kinburn spit, but contact with them has been completely lost.

Earlier, residents of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, shared with journalists how they have been living under constant shelling for more than 500 days of a full-scale invasion.

In April, NikVesti visited Ochakiv and showed in a photo report what the most dangerous point of the Mykolaiv region looks like.
