The process of construction of fortifications in the Kherson region was completed by 97%.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

«Today we are visiting the Kherson region. They inspected the process of construction of fortifications. At the request of the command of the Armed Forces, we are constantly building and improving defensive lines. The head of the RMA reported on the work in this direction. In the Kherson region, the state of completion of construction works is now 97%,» he wrote.

We will remind that in June 2024, 238 million hryvnias were additionally allocated for the construction of fortifications in the Kharkiv region. These funds were previously allocated from the reserve fund of the state budget to Mykolaiv and Rivne regional military administrations.

In April 2024, the government allocated an additional 5.6 billion hryvnias for the construction of fortifications in Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kherson regions.

According to the government, from the beginning of 2024, almost 38 billion hryvnias have been allocated from the state budget to strengthen the defense lines.

According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, work on the construction of fortification defense lines is carried out virtually continuously, but the biggest problem now remains enemy drones. It is noted that the defense lines are arranged by both military and civilian workers.

According to Vitalii Kim, Mykolaiv Oblast has become the leader in terms of the number of equipped fortifications.
