Since the beginning of this year, the Russian army has not shelled the territory of the Mykolayiv region for only two days.

This was announced by the head of Mykolayiv RMA, Vitalii Kim, on the air of the telethon Edyni Novyny, writes NikVesti.

According to his calculations, Mykolaiv Oblast did not come under fire only on May 17 and 22, since the beginning of 2024.

«Yesterday was the second day this year, only the second, when there was no shelling in our region. We have already had two days where we have not been shelled at all. The intensity of the shelling at the moment depends on the capabilities of the Russians. They have bad logistics. Our Armed Forces are working to destroy both the rear and logistics. It comes in waves. The wave when the shelling increases is when they rotate, they mostly coordinate and go further in the Zaporizhzhia and eastern direction. It goes in waves. It does not depend on us, there is no military logic in this, they just shoot,» said Vitalii Kim.

It should be noted that after the deoccupation of the Right Bank and Kherson at the end of 2022, the Russians most often shell the territory of the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities from the territory of the temporarily occupied Kinburn spit.

It will be recalled that on May 23, the Russians once again shelled the water area of the Ochakiv community with artillery.

On the night of May 20, Russian troops attacked the Mykolaiv region with attack drones. 16 enemy air targets were destroyed by the forces and means of anti-aircraft defense.
