Almost two thousand children of the Mykolaiv Oblast are registered with the Children's Service

As of March 2024, there are 1,890 minors on the records of the Children's Service in Mykolaiv Oblast.

This was stated by Iryna Ponomaryova, Head of the Children's Service of the Mykolaiv Oblast, during a briefing on March 28.

According to Iryna Ponomariova, the parents of 1,720 children avoid fulfilling their parental duties due to alcoholism or other factors. Among them there are 14 children who systematically leave their place of residence.

Another 135 children are registered as victims of domestic violence. Of these, 34 children were victims of physical violence, and 11 were victims of sexual violence. Another 90 children were subjected to psychological violence.

«If parents quarrel in high tones, such facts are recorded. Children suffer from this. Let's not forget about it,» she added.

Iryna Ponomariova also called on residents to report cases of illegal actions against children to the appropriate authorities.

«If you hear that domestic violence is being committed against a child, you hear about abuse, or even bullying at school, report it to the law enforcement agencies, as well as to the Children's Service,» she emphasized.
