The law enforcement officers exposed an official of the Canine Training Center, who is suspected of establishing a channel for transporting men abroad.
As reported by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), at the beginning of July this year, an official offered a resident of the Lviv region to transfer him across the state border for 21,000 euros.
According to the SBI, the official explained the large amount by the urgency and complexity of the task. In addition, he promised to help his acquaintances go to Europe.
According to the plan, the client had to get to the town of Chop in Transcarpathia on his own, from where, until escorts were established, he was to be ferried on foot outside the checkpoints. The official also advised the man to take clothes and shoes suitable for hiking.
The official scheduled the transfer of money for August 11 near the bus station in Lviv. He asked an acquaintance who was not familiar with the criminal scheme to collect the funds. After receiving funds from the intermediary, the official was detained by law enforcement officers.
He was informed of the suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the state border (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of up to nine years.
The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail. The investigation is ongoing, the full range of persons involved in the scheme is being established.
We will remind, in Bukovyna, the border guards detained the organizers of the illegal transportation of men across the state border. The men paid the ferryman five to eight thousand euros to get to Romania.
