Border guards of the Chop detachment found men in the mountains who had been wandering there for four days. It turned out that they wanted to enter Slovakia illegally.

As reported by the State Border Service, they discovered two unknown persons during patrolling, who were walking along the road leading to the border unit. During the interview of the men, it turned out that they had been wandering in the mountains for four days. Residents of Donetsk region and Cherkasy region admitted that they planned to enter Slovakia illegally.

The men said they met on social networks, where both were studying information on illegal border crossing. Then they decided to unite to go together. For crossing the state border, they chose a difficult high-mountain area, because, in their opinion, there were more chances to avoid border raids.

According to the border guards, the men carefully prepared for the trip: they bought tourist clothes and even anti-thermal raincoats, laid out the route in mobile applications, and stocked up on provisions. However, they did not take into account the complexity of mountainous areas and the lack of mobile coverage in certain areas. In the end, the offenders lost their way and wandered at random. Four days later, they came to a path near the border service department «Stuzhytsia». Border guards discovered them there.

The men were detained administratively in order to prosecute them for attempting to cross the border illegally. Their further fate will be determined by the court.

We will remind that the Kyiv courts passed the first verdicts against men who evaded conscription. In total, 7 men were punished, 19 more are waiting for the court's decision.
