A Russian reconnaissance drone monitored the motorcade of German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock during her visit to Mykolaiv on February 25.
This was first reported by German publications Bild and ZDF. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Germany confirmed this information, reports Deutsche Welle.
According to Bild, the drone followed Berbok during her visit to the desalination plant near Mykolaiv, which was built with the participation of Germany. The visit to the station was canceled early, but the drone continued to follow the minister's motorcade and then flew away.
As ZDF notes, the flights of reconnaissance drones are usually followed by airstrikes, so the German Foreign Ministry decided that Baerbock should leave Ukraine immediately. She and the members of the German delegation left Mykolaiv in armored cars, after which they crossed the border with Moldova.
We will remind you that Annalena Baerbock came to Ukraine on February 24, the second anniversary of the full-scale war. On the first day, she visited Odesa, on the second — Mykolaiv.
As part of the visit, Annalena Baerbock met with the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim and Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.
They told the head of the German Foreign Ministry about the current situation in Mykolaiv and the region, the security situation, the number of damaged civil infrastructure objects and their restoration. The officials also showed the building of Mykolayiv RMA, which was destroyed as a result of a rocket attack.
