UNESCO is the specialised agency of the United Nations for education, science and culture. In 2023 Ukraine was elected to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for the first time, and in November 2025 it again joined the organisation's Executive Board for 2025–2029. Ukrainian heritage under UNESCO protection includes the historic centre of Odesa, and in August 2025 Mykolaiv Observatory received the Blue Shield emblem. Ukrainian pysanka was added to the list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

MykVisti covers UNESCO decisions on Ukraine: protecting monuments from Russian attacks, missions to Odesa and support for archaeologists in areas hit by the destruction of the Kakhovka dam.
