news about the human rights commissioner and ombudsmen

The ombudsman, or the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, protects citizens' rights and examines their complaints. In Mykolaiv Oblast the ombudsman's representatives inspect shelters, schools, boarding schools and hospitals, and in June 2026 Dmytro Lubinets said a man with broken ribs had been unlawfully held at the Mykolaiv recruitment centre for almost three weeks.

MykVisti covers these inspections, complaints about mobilisation, people returned from occupation and the new military ombudsman.
