City Day

Mykolaiv City Day is an annual event traditionally celebrated on the second Saturday of September. The occasion marks the anniversary of the city's founding. Early celebrations were organized to acknowledge Mykolaiv's historical role in shipbuilding and the regional economy.

City Day usually features cultural and entertainment activities, concerts, exhibitions, sports events, and official ceremonies. In 2022–2023, the format changed due to the war — focusing on volunteer initiatives and aid for those affected. Most public events were canceled for safety reasons.
