Starlink

Starlink is the satellite internet system of Elon Musk’s American company SpaceX. In Ukraine its terminals provide communications for soldiers at the front, frontline communities and critical infrastructure. Poland pays for part of Ukraine’s terminals, almost $50 million a year. In early 2026 Ukraine introduced verification: only terminals registered through an administrative services centre, the Diia portal or, for the military, the DELTA system will keep working. The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration then urged people not to register other people’s terminals in their own names. In October 2026 SpaceX restricted terminals in motion with a 160 km/h speed limit, and soldiers complained about losing connection.
