Poisoning

Poisoning happens when a toxic substance enters the body: carbon monoxide, poisonous mushrooms, spoiled food or chemicals. In the Mykolaiv Oblast the most common cause is carbon monoxide from generators, boilers and stoves: by early February 2026 the region had counted 13 such cases since the start of the year, seven of them children. In autumn people end up in hospital after eating wild mushrooms.
