People's deputy of Ukraine Oleksandr Pasichnyi believes that Mykolaiv needs to study the experience of creating industrial parks in order to attract investors and replenish the city budget in the future.
He stated this on the air of the MART TV channel, commenting on the possibility of creating a special economic zone in the city.
Oleksandr Pasichnyi believes that the free economic zone that existed in the city earlier is an ineffective tool.
«If we are talking about the economic zone, which was proposed a little more than 10 years ago, the mechanism will not work. There is experience that it did not work and there were a lot of abuses in the economic zone. That is, in the format as it was, it will be difficult to do. Nevertheless, there is already a bill that has worked — these are industrial parks. This is also preferential taxation. It is possible, but we understand that it is difficult to invest in the Mykolaiv region now,» — said the People's Deputy.
In his opinion, industrial parks should become attractive places for business, so that entrepreneurs make investments, create jobs and fill the community budget.
«The industrial park tool is already working and the experience can be learned in other regions. I hope this experience will be effective. But nevertheless, we are working on other tools as well,» — says Oleksandr Pasichnyi.
We will remind that the Government included in the register the industrial park VinIndustry in Vinnytsia, which became the 70th in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, now industrial parks are financed from the State Fund, and since most of them do not work, this creates an additional burden on the budget. With this in mind, the parliament considered the possibility of liquidating approximately half of the industrial parks registered in Ukraine.
It was also reported that the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, believes that the state should help create techno- and industrial parks in the territories destroyed or damaged by the war in order to provide jobs and fill local budgets.
We will remind, the secretary of the Mykolaiv City Council, Dmytro Falko, believes that the free economic zone will help open a «window of opportunity» for investors who will come to Mykolaiv and be ready to invest in business.
Recently, the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych spoke about the special economic zone. He noted that he had already discussed economic risks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
