Residents of Mykolaiv complained about a hole filled with water at the entrance to the yard: «It's been dug for 5 months»

Residents of buildings near the Gvardiyska stop on Heroiv Ukrainy Avenue complained about digging when entering the yard from the avenue.

With such a complaint, they turned to the editorial office of Nikvesti.

According to residents, the pit has been dug for about 5 months and is filled with water, which flows out onto the avenue.

As Oleksandr Bereza, the head of the administration of the Tsentralnyy district of the Mykolayiv city council, explained in a comment to NikVesti, there is still no point in eliminating the excavation, as a water supply pipe periodically bursts in this place, which is in an emergency state and needs to be replaced.

According to him, Mykolaivvodokanal does not yet have the resources for the final replacement of the pipe, so it periodically conducts operational interventions and local repair work in that area.

— Mykolaivvodokanal has been dug up there, and there is a rather serious problem there, a significant section of the pipe needs to be replaced. But so far the water utility does not give any forecasts regarding the final repair. They still cannot eliminate the excavation, because periodically they have to repair it again, because it constantly breaks through there. There is a large section of the pipe to be replaced, so far there is no possibility to replace it, so there is no point in burying it, — Oleksandr Bereza said.

As a reminder, it is worth noting that from September 2023, in the Central district of Mykolaiv, CHP employees are replacing 300 meters of pipe. Because of this, Mariupolska street in the city center has been in a dilapidated state for more than a month.

We should also note that on August 19, the department of urban planning, architecture, capital construction and support of development projects of the Mykolayiv RMA announced tenders for the reconstruction of 12 sections of water mains damaged by salt water in various areas of the city for a total amount of 1 billion 348 million hryvnias.

As you know, new pipes during the large-scale reconstruction project of water networks in Mykolaiv will be laid in such a way that the citizens do not have to turn off the water for the period of the works.
