The deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council supported the compensation program for partial reimbursement of the amount of the initial mortgage payment, which will be valid in 2025-2027.

This decision was made at the regular session of the city council on October 30, reports NikVesti.

In addition, the deputies supported the amendment, which increases the funding of the program from 6 to 30 million hryvnias.

«Good idea, but where are we going to get the money?» commented Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.

We will remind that certain categories of city residents will be able to use the program, including military personnel, teachers, doctors and scientists. They will be entitled to reimbursement of up to 50% of the first target contribution, but the amount will not exceed 200,000 hryvnias.

In September, the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council approved the compensation program, planning financing in the amount of 6 million hryvnias, that is, 2 million per year.

However, at the meeting of the budget commission on October 22, deputy Andrii Yantar proposed to increase the funding to 30 million for three years, that is, 10 million annually, which will allow about 50 people to receive compensation. During the session, an amendment was also added, which provides for the purchase of housing only in Mykolaiv, without the possibility of purchase in other regions of Ukraine.
