Parliamentarians supported the abolition of import duties and VAT on the import of energy equipment, including generators, solar panels and electricity storage systems.
People's deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this.
«The Council adopted as a whole №11258 and №11259 regarding the cancellation of tax and customs duties for the production and/or repair of mechanized demining machines. There are also amendments on exemption from customs duty and VAT on the importation of energy equipment into Ukraine: electric generator equipment; equipment for wind and solar generation; batteries (except low-capacity batteries),» wrote Yaroslav Zhelezniak.
According to the list, until the end of martial law, goods imported into the customs territory of Ukraine (including those sent in international postal and express shipments) are exempt from taxation:
- electric generator installations with a piston engine (except those intended for civil aviation);
- gas turbines;
- engines and generators, electric (except electric generating sets) with a capacity of more than 750 kVxA;
- inverters (except inverter welding machines);
- lithium-ion batteries;
- solar electric panels;
- consoles, switchboards for control or distribution of electric current
- parts for wind power generators.
We will remind that private companies are already ready to implement projects for the construction of new electricity generation facilities in Ukraine with a capacity of 1 GW.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at a conference on the restoration of the country, said that within the next three to four months, Ukraine should quickly and inexpensively restore all possible energy facilities.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi reminded that 9 GW of power was destroyed as a result of Russian missile and drone strikes in Ukraine, adding that the peak consumption last winter was 18 GW.
