Mykolaiv will receive six buses next week as part of cooperation with Norway.
Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said this during a conversation with journalists, «NikVesti» writes.
— In a week, we expect the arrival of six buses that were in use, but can serve the city of Mykolaiv from Norway, — said Oleksandr Sienkevych.
In addition, the mayor said that Mykolaiv plans to hold two tenders for the purchase of transport to improve the city's infrastructure. The first purchase of autonomous trolleybuses is expected at the end of this year. The second tender will be held at the beginning of 2024, it will concern transport for the Mykolaivpastrans enterprise.
— I think that we all need to prepare for the worst-case scenario, that there will be no money in the city budget even to cover people's travel. I don't want to scare anyone. Of course, Mykolaiv plans to use the loan funds to purchase two types of transport — autonomous trolleybuses, I think that the tender will be held at the end of the year, and this means that next year we will receive the first units of transport. The second tender will be held at the beginning of next year — a tender for the maintenance of buses for the Mykolaivpastrans enterprise. We also expect the delivery of buses in the near future, which were purchased at the expense of Denmark and will be transferred to Mykolaiv, — he summarized.
We remind that in June, Mykolaiv received a second new trolleybus as part of the resumption of cooperation with the EBRD.
As reported, in July of last year, 18 trolleybuses of CE Mykolaivelectrotrans were damaged as a result of shelling.
At the beginning of the year, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, said that in order to transfer the education process in Mykolaiv to an offline format, it is necessary to provide the city with school buses, since some of the institutions were destroyed by the Russians. He noted that Mykolaiv currently lacks public transport, as part of it was handed over to the military, and part was destroyed or damaged by shelling.
