Romania will transfer the American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine.

Such a decision was adopted by the Supreme Council of Defense of the country on June 20, reports the press service of the Romanian leader Klaus Iohannis.

«Given the significant deterioration of the security situation in Ukraine as a result of Russia's constant and massive attacks on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure, especially on the energy sector, as well as the regional consequences of this situation, including for the security of Romania, in close coordination with the allies, the members of the Council decided to provide Patriot system to Ukraine,» the message reads.

It will be recalled that earlier the Ministry of Defense of Romania stated that now is not the best time to send Patriot to Ukraine.

It will be recalled that US President Joe Biden decided to send the second American Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex to Ukraine.

During a conference in Berlin, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs at least 7 Patriot systems.
