Today, Ukraine needs at least seven Patriot air defense systems to protect against Russian attacks.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his speech at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024, NikVesti reports.

It should be noted that Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Germany to participate in the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine on June 11-12 and to hold talks with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

According to the president, today Russia's biggest strategic advantage over Ukraine is superiority in the sky.

«Only up to a hundred guided air bombs daily, Sunday — 80 guided air strikes, Monday — 95 guided air bombs, this is insanely destructive pressure, plus missiles, plus attack drones,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He thanked international partners, in particular the leader of Germany, for supporting the defense of Ukraine and providing air defense and emphasized that today Ukraine lacks at least 7 Patriot systems.

«We managed to provide partial protection from Russian airstrikes, we have and can do more, we need at least 7 more Patriot systems to cover our main urban agglomerations, and this will be a driver of preserving normal life in Ukraine,» said the president.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated during his speech that Ukraine will leave the conference with agreements «worth billions of euros.»

«Our friends from partner countries, not only from Europe, are also present here. And we will leave this conference with agreements worth billions of euros. It is about the production of military equipment and weapons, the development of Ukrainian energy, housing construction, and the medical sector,» the president said.

We will remind that the Armed Forces of Germany (Bundeswehr) will receive eight new Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. The new purchases are primarily intended to fill the gaps that arose due to the transfer of air defense systems to Ukraine.

Instead, in April, Germany announced the urgent transfer of one Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex to Ukraine.
