Since the beginning of the year, more than 2,000 road accidents have occurred in the Mykolayiv region

In 9 months of the current year, the patrol police of the Mykolaiv region registered 2,224 road accidents, of which 35% were accidents with fatalities or injuries.

This was reported to «NikVesti» by the Patrol Police Department of the Mykolaiv region in response to an information request.

Thus, according to law enforcement officers, since the beginning of the year, 777 accidents occurred in the Mykolayiv region, in which 1,070 people were injured: 79 of them died, and another 991 participants were injured.

The largest number of traffic accidents was recorded by patrol officers in September — 330 accidents.

«129 people were killed and/or injured, 12 participants were killed and 167 people were injured of various degrees of severity,» — stated in the message.

On the other hand, February 2023, compared to the entire period, has the lowest number of road accidents with the lowest number of fatalities.

«In the period from 01.02 to 28.02.2023, 187 road accidents were registered on the street and road network of the Mykolaiv region, 50 of which resulted in deaths and/or injuries, 3 participants were killed and 65 people were injured of various degrees of severity,» — the law enforcement officers reported.

It will be recalled that on August 10, in Mykolaiv, a Volkswagen driver, driving at high speed along Velyka Morska Street on the lane reserved for public transport, crashed into the «Tavria». In the middle of the passenger car were two children — a boy and a girl, about 7 and 4 years old. At the time of the collision, the latter flew out of the car onto the road under the feet of pedestrians.

It is worth noting that in July 2022, the head of Mykolayiv SRA Vitaly Kim announced that he would take cars from military personnel who violate traffic rules.

Also recently, on September 1, in the center of Mykolaiv, at the intersection of Pushkinska and Nikolska streets, a Jeep Compass hit a woman who was crossing the street at a crosswalk.

We will remind that on September 5, at 9:30 p.m., an accident occurred on the T-15-06 highway near Pervomaysk. As a result of the accident, the car driver and a passenger died. The driver of the Opel Vectra passenger car lost control and drove into a ditch with subsequent overturning.
