On New Year's Eve, a local resident set off fireworks in Snihurivka, Mykolaiv region.

«Regarding today's night fireworks in the city of Snihurivka: police officers promptly identified and detained the persons involved in launching the fireworks, the culprits will be punished,» the mass media reported.
In a comment to NikVesti, the press service of the Mykolaiv Oblast police confirmed this fact.
According to law enforcement officials, a local resident launched the fireworks at around 3:20 a.m.
The perpetrator who committed hooligan acts was a 36-year-old local resident. The man was intoxicated. He explained his actions as a desire to have fun.

Now, under the procedural guidance of the Snihurivka Department of the Bashtanka District Prosecutor's Office, the police investigators informed the perpetrator of the suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for restriction of freedom for a period of up to five years.
