In Antonivka, Kherson region, the Russians destroyed the only «green school» in the region, built with the support of foreign partners according to European principles of energy saving.
Roman Mrochko, head of the Kherson MRA, told about it.
«Today, the Russian occupiers finished the first in Ukraine and the only one in the Kherson region «green school», which was created on the basis of school №21 in Antonivka. Racists attacked the unique school twice in half a day, causing irreparable damage,» the message reads.
Roman Mrochko noted that the educational institution, built with the help of the Finnish government, accepted its first two hundred students in 2016. It was an unusual event for the whole of Ukraine — the «green school» was built according to European principles of energy saving. It was equipped with an air purification system — recuperation. There are no pipes or batteries inside the room. Heat was provided by solar batteries located on the roof.
We will remind that Finland allocated 2.4 million euros for the construction of a modular frame. The city authorities undertook the construction of the foundation, the installation of all the necessary communications and the purchase of furniture — it cost 3.5 million hryvnias.
As a reminder, Lithuania plans to build a shelter school in the Mykolaiv region by the end of 2024. Similar underground institutions should appear in 5 regions of Ukraine.
The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vynnytskyi spoke earlier about the construction of underground schools in the Mykolaiv region. This is necessary for the transition of children to offline education, so as not to lose students.
Such a school for 500 students will be built in nearby Kherson. Project and estimate documentation is currently being developed. Construction of six underground schools is underway in the Zaporizhzhia region.
How do children study in frontline cities?
As you know, a similar project for the construction of an underground school was implemented in Kharkiv. The building is built according to the highest safety standards, has 20 classrooms and is designed to accommodate 900 students in two shifts. In general, distance, offline and mixed forms of education operate in the city.
At the end of March, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war in Zaporizhzhia, 24 schools returned to the mixed education format. Schools in Dnipro also operate in a mixed format.
And in Odesa in 2024, almost all educational institutions will be working full-time.
