Up to $15,000 for illegal border crossing: law enforcement officers detained the suspected organizer

Law enforcement officers exposed an illegal scheme for crossing the state border in Zakarpattia region. The fee for such services was from 10 to 15 thousand dollars.

This was reported in the press service of the State Border Service.

The department noted that they detained an 18-year-old native of Rivne region, who is suspected of organizing an illegal border crossing outside official checkpoints.

The person involved in the case looked for clients via the Internet and offered «his services» for 10-15 thousand dollars.

It is noted that he was caught red-handed while trying to conduct another operation for $10,500.

A mobile phone, bank cards and cash were seized from the detainee. The law enforcement officers informed him about the suspicion of committing a crime. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the suspect faces criminal liability for illegal activity.

Earlier, Ukrainian border guards detained two groups of men who tried to illegally cross the state border.

We will remind that two residents of Mykolaiv and their friend from Uzhhorod will be tried for organizing the scheme of illegal crossing of the state border. The men face 12 years in prison.

Earlier, the border guards had already detained 23 men who, according to the instructions of the Telegram channel, were trying to reach Moldova.

As informed by the border guards, 40 people died while trying to cross the border illegally.

In addition, a group of men who tried to cross the Tisza by boat and get to Hungary were detained.

As reported, seven men were detained in Bukovina, accompanied by a local resident, who, according to border guards, were planning to illegally cross the border with Romania.

It will be recalled that two residents of Transcarpathia are suspected of transporting conscripted men across the state border of Ukraine. They were detained while handing over money to the border guard. They are in custody.

Also, recently in Odesa, border guards detained a 30-year-old resident of Kyiv, on suspicion of helping men conscripted into military service to conclude fictitious marriages with women with many children and women with group I or II disabilities in order to get a deferment from mobilization and cross the border.
