At the time of the fatal accident, which occurred on 28 January, there was no one else in Yevhenii Velychko's car except him. He did not require hospitalisation.
It is known that law enforcement officers have already detained the mayor of Voznesensk and handed him a suspicion under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — «Violation of traffic safety rules that caused the death of the victim or caused serious bodily harm».
According to the prosecutor's office, there were three people in the other car, a Renault Megane: the driver died at the scene, and a married couple — a man and a woman — are in hospital with injuries. Rescuers from the State Emergency Service used power tools to free the victims from the damaged car.

On 28 January at 15:47, the rescue service received information about an accident involving two cars. The accident itself occurred near the village of Pushkove in the Holovanivskyi district.
The details of the accident and its cause are still unknown. In the near future, the court will decide on a preventive measure for the suspect.
