More than ₴146 million: experts calculated environmental damage due to the strike on Korabelnyi district

The amount of damage caused to the environment as a result of the contamination of land resources after a missile strike on the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv amounts to 146 million hryvnias.

This was reported in the press service of the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District.

According to state inspectors, the total area of the littered land is 3,000 square meters, and the total volume of generated waste is 12 cubic meters.

So, in the future, data on the damage will be sent to the Operational Headquarters of the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine for recording, organizing information and forming a single register of damages.

Attack on Mykolaiv on February 7

The first blows to the city sounded around 6 in the morning. As it became known later, Mykolaiv was attacked by «Shakhed» and rockets.

Initially, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, reported that the roofs of about 20 residential buildings were blown off due to the explosions. City construction crews went to the scene, and residents are being assisted.

Later, the OVA added that a technical building was damaged in the territory of the infrastructure facility as a result of shelling. There was a fire there.

The State Emergency Service reported that more than 40 rescuers and 6 units of equipment are working to eliminate the consequences.

Leonid Glove, a resident of Mykolaiv and an employee of the Mykolaiv branch of «Gazmerezha», was injured by a missile strike. The man was hospitalized, but due to a significant number of injuries , he died in intensive care.
