The Mykolaiv Central Heating and Power Plant is seeking a contractor to repair the city’s ageing heating networks. It is prepared to spend 3.4 million hryvnias on this.
This is according to data from the Prozorro system, as reported by NikVesti.
In the tender documentation, the CHPP explains that some of the pipes are already significantly worn. During an inspection, specialists identified corrosion and a reduction in the wall thickness of pipes with diameters ranging from 159 to 630 millimetres. In some places, the reinforced concrete channels through which the networks run are also deteriorating.
In total, the CHP plant maintains almost 50 kilometres of heating networks in Mykolaiv. These run both underground and above ground, supplying heat to residential buildings and social institutions.
During the repair work, the plan is to remove the worn-out sections of pipe and install new ones, as well as to replace some of the shut-off valves. The scope of the work has already been determined following an inspection and preliminary measurements of the heating networks.
In particular, on one section, the plan is to replace 47 metres of pipe with a diameter of 630 millimetres. There, the old insulation and certain pipeline components will also be removed, and once the pipes have been replaced, the necessary structures will be restored.
However, the tender documentation does not specify the addresses of the sections where the repairs will take place. It is merely stated that they are located in Mykolaiv, and the CHP plant will specify the exact location in its instructions to the contractor. Part of the heating networks runs close to buildings, tram crossings and other underground utilities.
The heating networks are scheduled to be repaired between 2026 and 2027, with work under this tender due to be completed by 1 July 2027.
It should be recalled that, back in early May, the CHP plant began repairs to the heating pipeline on Pavlo Skoropadskyi Street. As a result, traffic on the section between Mariupolska Street and Soborna Street was temporarily made two-way. The road is currently scheduled to be restored following the works in September.
