On Sunday, July 7, another rally in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war was held in Mykolaiv. About 250 people came to the rally.

This was reported by the NikVesti correspondent.

This time, relatives of Mykolaiv soldiers who are in captivity and caring residents of the city gathered near Kashtanovyi Square on Soborna Street in the center of Mykolaiv.

More than 200 people stood on both sides of the street, creating a corridor. Almost all the participants brought with them posters, flags of Ukraine and flags of various brigades, in particular the Mykolaiv 36th Separate Brigade of Marines and the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, which defend Ukraine on different front lines.

  • «I've been waiting for my dad for the third year»;
  • «I'm waiting for a son»;
  • «You fought for me, I fight for you»;
  • «You have tomorrow, they don't have today»;
  • «We fight together. He is for life, I am for his freedom,» said the posters.

Anatoly and his wife came to the rally to remind the townspeople about their 29-year-old son, who was captured in Mariupol while defending the metallurgical plant named after Ilyich in the 36th brigade.

«It is correct to go to rallies. Indifference kills, because people just walk around, smiling. It would be good if someone from the mayor's office or the military administration also came out (to rallies, —note),» said the father of the prisoner of war.

The parents will find out information about their son and where he is from his siblings, who have already been exchanged.

«My son is a very motivated person, he said from an early age that he would be a soldier. He started to serve in 2013, initially completed a term of service. Then in 2014, when it became clear that an officer is not only «wearing epaulettes», he clearly went and finished with dignity,» said Anatolii.

When the little daughter of Diana and her Denis was a little over a year old, her father, a soldier of the 36th OBMP, was captured in Mariupol. Now Diana together with her daughter and other relatives attend rallies all over Ukraine.

«The man served under the contract for the third year already. The contract was supposed to expire on February 26, 2022, and the war began two days later. Therefore, it turned out that two days were already two years long. Two days were not enough for us to get him home, unfortunately. Daughter now understands that her father is in captivity, recognizes him from photographs,» said Diana.

According to the woman, she often attends rallies in various Ukrainian cities.

«This is a reminder that we should be thankful for the morning and for what they do for us. Because we are here, and our guys: those at ground zero risk their lives, those in captivity risk their lives, enduring torture and torture. We want to urge you to come out, put in, to understand that this can happen to anyone. It is necessary to support and not be indifferent,» she added.
