The decision was made on Tuesday, 25 February, during an extraordinary session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, according to NikVesti.
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, thanked the deputies for their support of the president, noting that in these difficult times, when the geopolitical situation is uncertain, it is important to demonstrate unity. He stressed that it is important for international partners to see the unity of Ukrainians and support for the President.
«I am grateful that you have gathered to support our President in such difficult times, which are very important now in the international arena. Because you can see the turbulence and uncertainty in the geopolitics of some countries. And indeed, this unity that you show is very important for our country as a whole. I can't tell you what I know, but I assure you that everything is not as bad as the TV says,» said Vitalii Kim.
Anton Tabunschyk, Chairman of the Regional Council, stressed that in order to achieve peace, Ukraine needs unity not only within the country but also with international partners.
«Our task today is to achieve sustainable peace and provide strong guarantees for Ukraine. This can only be achieved through unity among ourselves and Ukraine's allies and partners. We must counter Russian disinformation. We propose to support the appeal expressing support for the President of Ukraine and his proposal that negotiations on Ukraine should not be held without the Ukrainian side. Only the people of Ukraine have the right to decide their future, and all attempts at external influence will not break our spirit,» said Anton Tabunschyk.

After that, the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology published a new survey on trust in the President of Ukraine, where trust in Volodymyr Zelenskyy is 57%.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that his support rating among Ukrainians remained high, so he saw no reason to make any changes to his position.
On 24 February, the Verkhovna Rada failed to vote on a resolution on democracy, which included the powers of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Peace talks
Earlier, Donald Trump stated that the United States was engaged in constructive negotiations on a full-scale war with Ukraine and the Russian Federation. In particular, he expressed hope that agreements would be reached as soon as possible.
He also claimed that Washington had already made some progress in negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
In addition, Donald Trump indicated that his administration had already held discussions with Moscow, but did not specify who participated in such a dialogue. Also, during his phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump never said that Europe needs a seat at the table in negotiations on Ukraine.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that negotiations between the United States and Russia to end the war without Kyiv's participation pose a threat to everyone.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that he was ready to sit down with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin for the sake of peace, despite his hostile attitude. He also added that he did not see a ready-made peace plan from Trump, but conveyed his readiness to negotiate.
However, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he was ready to «allocate people» to negotiate with Ukraine to end the war. At the same time, he called any such talks «illegitimate».
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine does not recognise the loss of its territories, but is ready for diplomatic solutions to return them if it becomes a NATO member.
